Cornell’s campus is incredibly vegan friendly! I find it easier to be vegan here than at home! The food in the dining halls is always labeled and there are always plenty of vegan options! I think Risley is the best dining hall for vegan options. They always have at least one hot food item that often includes tofu and is always so good! They also have an awesome salad bar and stir fry station with so many vegan options and you can request it to be oil free. All of the dining halls have dairy free milk and Just Mayo vegan mayonnaise. Appel frequently has vegan chocolate cake which is to die for! On top of the dining halls there are many vegan foods at cafes and other eateries on campus. Several places offer vegan pizza, they sell DF Mavens vegan icecream, Alternative Baking Co cookies, as well as veggie sushi, luna and clif bars, and so many other things! Cornell makes being vegan so effortless and on top of that Ithaca boasts dozens of vegan friendly options! Truly a vegan paradise!

One of the downsides to Cornell dining is the mislabeling. Many times the fried rice is labeled vegan when it has egg in it, or some of the salads will be labeled vegan when they have cheese in them. There are also very limited vegan brunch options.

I have noticed a big change in Cornell dining just this semester. All of their pies are now vegan and they offer vegan chocolate cake at many eateries. Many cafes now offer vegan options including (but not limited to) quesadillas, grilled cheese, pizza, pasta bakes, and more! One of the dining halls now offers vegan pizza on most nights. The chefs are very willing to try new recipes and love hearing feedback from students. They have great vegetable dishes, whole grain salads, soups, and one chef even served vegan mac and cheese (so good!).

Cornell Dining has been incredibly helpful and willing to accommodate the vegan interest at Cornell. We are very thankful for all of their support and contributions.
