It’s great that the J Dining Hall at Cal Poly Humboldt offers SO MANY vegan options including a dedicated hot food station with vegan dishes and sides every day of the week. They have a dedicated vegan chef and assistant who oversees all vegan food preparation. Also, Humboldt Dining offers many vegan salad bar options – vegan desserts in the J Dining Hall – vegan retail items – and many of the local food vendors like Wildflower Cafe and Hey Juan Burritos offer vegan entrees too. You can literally find so many vegan options all over campus. Super grateful to Humboldt Dining for stepping up and making vegan a priority! 🙂

The vegan options aren’t even labeled as such anymore, making it difficult to know what to eat! They no longer make vegan pizzas or tofu sandwiches. They stopped doing meatless mondays a few years ago, a clear sign that they lost interest in feeding us in favor of their already well-fed omnivorous students.

I go to this school and they falsely advertise vegan options, literally advertise it on the menu, but have different food available. They used to have meatless Mondays, but now only the menu has meatless items and the actual food available is covered in cheese and includes meat. It is extremely disappointing because the only breakfast option is disgusting oatmeal or occasional tater tots.

Love the Portabella Pizza, Szechuan Tofu Salad bar and Fruit bar.

All they had today was vegetables and harmfully spicy soup. They never have hot vegan breakfast options when it’s not a monday, and they do NOT label any vegan desserts, if they exist.

Humboldt State University is the only campus in the California State University System that is currently participating in Meatless Mondays.

HSU offers vegan desserts all the time, they have a great salad bar with 75% vegan toppings, they offer 1 vegan meal choice for dinner, and I think they even serve lactose-free milk! I love the cafeteria here!
