There is always a vegetarian option in the resident dining halls and the retail menus can be customized to be vegan/vegetarian. Their vegan desserts are always good and Dhall expanded their plant-forward station in 2023!

Pretty much every dining facility offers vegan options, although the all-you-care-to-eat style dining halls have a lot more options, and better labeling for their vegan goods. Even the two food trucks on campus have vegan options, which are labeled as such on their menus. It can be kind of overwhelming at first, especially trying to find the designated vegan stations at the dining halls, but there is plenty of good vegan dining options (although, I’d always be willing to have more 😉 . The even did a day in one of the dining halls that was completely vegan at ALL the stations.

My son a freshman this year and is struggling to find vegan protein based foods.. that healthy.. they don’t offer brown rice or vegan a dining hall.. bummer

Although JMU needs to work on their labeling, they have LOTS of options and delicious salad bars. They even make vegan quick-grab options like Vegan Oatmeal Cookies. My favorite item to get is the sushi.
